The Black Crowes insult paying fans for chanting "USA" at one of their concerts, so the fans WALK OUT

😬 EXCLUSIVE: The Black Crowes were booed for dissing a crowd chanting "USA." https://t.co/Jt8xBLYTG4 pic.twitter.com/CettxXyqWv

The worst part of this story is less about Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson being a prick than about him distracting people from discovering tour co-headlining band Whiskey Myers, who are the best band out there today. And it will be fun to watch people who called for Jaxson Dart to be cut from the Giants for introducing Trump at a rally to suddenly rediscover the First Amendment. But, yeah. Apparently, when you display an American Flag in the South, people chant "USA!" and Robinson hates that.
Welcome to Tampa. Where, before the band played "She Talks to Angels," they showed an image of the band's mascot dressed as Uncle Sam. The crowd does what crowds do and started a USA chant. So, Robinson mocked his paying audience. The paying audience chanted louder.
This is where his meltdown happens.
I don’t know what you have to be so proud of right now. For those of you f*cking booing us, some of us are not afraid. And we most assuredly are not f*cking ignorant.
No, it would appear you are, in point of fact, ignorant. A point that many of the now-former paying audience agreed with.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: The fallout from The Black Crowes' onstage political dust-up on Sunday didn't end with boos ... it kept rolling straight toward the exits. pic.twitter.com/PSFZy9iMi4

Here's the thing: I'm a conservative from New York. Listening to artists who disagree with me politically isn't a foreign concept. But they usually keep their disagreement in BlueSky and Instagram Stories. Most artists, rightfully, know their paying fans could use a release and are out to take a break from everything.
Especially knowing how absurd ticket prices are these days. I actually went to get tickets for the Southern Hospitality Tour, mostly for Whiskey Myers and opening act Southold. Then I saw how much even the cheap seats weren't so cheap.
The crowd wasn't chanting "We Love Trump" or "Deport All Illegals." They were chanting what every crowd in America chants when they see the American Flag, or other patriotic imagery like Uncle Sam. Or the uncensored cover of the Amorica album. At least, when they are at rock concerts. Not so much had this been the Dixie Chicks or a WNBA game.
Next stop for the tour is St. Augustine, followed by Georgia and the Carolinas. I'm sure they'll react well to Robinson's follow-up rant.
