Watch: Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl is causing outrage...but do you REALLY care?

Rapper Bad Bunny was recently announced as the headliner for Super Bowl LX, set to take place in California this February. Over the weekend on SNL, he aimed at his critics, responding to the controversy surrounding his upcoming halftime performance. This follows his earlier vow to never perform in the United States under the Trump administration as a way to push back against his political opponents. Today’s show breaks it down.
According to CNN, the rapper “said in an interview that he did not include the United States in his 2025-2026 concert tour because of fear that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would raid the concert venues.”
The musician has previously been critical of ICE operations, which have intensified under US President Donald Trump. He posted an Instagram video in June in which he expressed outrage at federal agents in Puerto Rico for not “leaving these people working here alone.”
However, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that immigration officials will enforce the law during the Super Bowl, adding that "There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally,” according to Fox News.
On SNL, Bad Bunny said in English, “I’m very excited to be doing the Super Bowl, and I know people around the world who love my music are also happy, especially all Latinos.” He then spoke in Spanish, saying, “As throughout the world and here in the United States, all people who have worked to open doors… more than an achievement of mine,” and added, “Our footprints and contributions in this country… no one will be able to take it away or erase it,” according to Axios.
"The left is celebrating this far and wide in legacy media. Maybe they took it a little more seriously than Senior Bunny had intended," Gerald A said. "Can we just ignore this?"
He then said you have four months to learn what he said if you didn't understand his Spanish.
“Don’t overreact,” Gerald A said. “Let’s just not care about these issues that don’t even matter… I just don’t see the need to even worry about this stuff.”
