Dang it, Candace Owens is good in front of a congressional hearing. The woman knows how to hold her ground and takes no flack from her fellow panelists who completely took her out of context about her "hilarious" comment. She also got in a few shots about their "white privilege" without using the words "white privilege." Whoever can liquify this rant so it can be shot directly into my veins has my vote for 2020.

She is pretty right on the money here. We, and when I say we I mean all of us, tend to hype spectacular dangers over everyday ones. That's not without reason, by the way, but I'll hit that in a second. Fact is, you are more likely to be killed in a car accident than you are by a white supremacist. You're more likely to die from heart disease than a stabby Islamist. You're more likely to be killed via a crappy doctor or some other form of malpractice than you are shot by an angry young man with a boomstick. Which isn't to say white supremacists, terrorists, or mass shooters are not serious problems. They are.

But like Candace Owens points out, if your concern is "What harms black Americans most" and your answer is "angry whities with bad choices in facial hair" we've got a problem, as the numbers just aren't there. Fatherless households do a number on everyone, including mass shooters who are usually white. Yet Congress doesn't want to talk about fatherless households, especially in the black American community. Abortion does a number on everyone, especially black Americans. But Congress doesn't want to talk about abortion rates, especially in the black American community.

Instead, leftists in media and Congress want to focus on something they can stump for an election, as Candace points out. RACISM. NATIONALISM. ANGRY WHITE PEOPLE WITH CONFEDERATE FLAGS AND MULLETTS! But if the left actually cared about black Americans, they'd listen to Candace. Not try to make a small problem, which is still a problem, bigger than it actually is in order to win an election.
