The 50-year-old eco-theorist who temporarily halted the US Open after he glued his feet to the floor says NYPD officers took him to the psych ward after he was ejected, according to a report.

Four climate change protesters were taken into custody Thursday night at Arthur Ashe Stadium during a women's semifinal match. Tournament referee Jake Gardner entered the court while security removed protesters wearing shirts that said "End Fossil Fuels."

It remains unclear how stopping the US Open is supposed to help the environment and defeat this so-called invisible enemy.

One protester, Shayok Mukhopadhyay, spent several hours at East Elmhurst Hospital after the NYPD took him into custody.

“I’ve been arrested before, but I’ve never had this experience,” Mukhopadhyay told the New York Daily News. “They were asking obvious leading questions like, ‘Do you think the world is going to end?’ This typical stereotype of the crazy, apocalyptic cult kind of thing.”

The eco cult has become increasingly hysterical and this may be the right approach we need to take from now on.

The demonstration was organized by Extinction Rebellion, a climate prophecy group that claims “we are on the brink of a global catastrophe,” according to its website.

Mukhopadhyay was released several hours later by the NYPD.

“This was completely a mechanism to intimidate and humiliate and to paint a distorted picture of me,” he said.

The same doomsday cult organized two consecutive days of protests against government subsidies for the fossil fuel industry in the Netherlands where Dutch police said more than 500 climate activists had been detained on Sunday, and around 2,400 protesters were detained on Saturday as an estimated 10,000 activists blocked the same highway for several hours.

Cognitive dissonance is often a symptom not only among the climate cult, but all religious cults. Their doomsday scenarios that point to the dreaded end of humanity, that can only be saved by the very prophets who disrupt tennis matches, is all so telling.

Their unhinged fear about impending catastrophe never seems to come true. We really need to start staging interventions. What the NYPD did here is admirable and shows a true compassionate approach for people in the climate death cult who are obviously going through a severe mental health crisis that is fueled by predictions of the apocalypse.
