Tiger Woods Shocks Media with Donald Trump, Race Relations Comments
Tiger Woods just won a big golf thing over the weekend. He's also friends with Donald Trump. So of course questions were less about the big golf thing and more about Trump beefing with athletes (see Ted Cruz Destroys Beto O’Rourke Over NFL Player Kneeling and Report: NFL to Bribe Kneeling Players with $89 Million). For the media, this was the perfect opportunity to get a celebrity on camera with a hole-in-one bashing of Trump.
Instead, Woods sunk the putt. And if these golf puns aren't working, it's because golf bores the hell out of me. Don't @ me.
Here's what Tiger said about his friend.
"Well, he's the President of the United States. No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office."
Pause: yes, I know. Tiger cheated on his wife. Tiger did a lot of bad things. Tiger isn't a perfect man, or even close to a perfect man. Try not to focus on that aspect of Tiger right now, and simply cherish his reaction to media trying to bait him in a political sand trap. Multiple things can be true at once.
Resume: still, the reporter persisted. Woods is a celebrity. It's required for him to have a political opinion. Especially a leftist one.
Which brings us to the greatest response to a reporter's question that anyone has ever given. Ever.
Woods was asked if he had anything more to say regarding the state of race relations and discourse."No," Woods answered. "I just finished 72 holes and I'm really hungry."
Eat up, Tiger. Methinks *some* people are going to to be less interested in Tiger's comeback now that he's expressed a different opinion than what's allowed in media. Though there will probably be a lot more MAGA-Americans pretending to like golf now.
So it's a wash. Like your caddy does with your balls.
