Pelosi to Colbert: Impeachment Doesn't Need to be Bipartisan. Earlier Said Yes, It Did.
Advice to Pelosi: read transcripts of your own speeches prior to revisiting a topic on television. Otherwise people will mock you for being a brainless wunderkind. Here's the NancyBot 200 telling Stephen Colbert the impeachment of Trump needn't be bipartisan. Followed by an earlier video in which she said oh yes it does.
This probably wasn't a misspeak so much as it was a mind change. Whoever updated Pelosi's software just forgot to add a patch prompting Pelosi to explain why she's changed her mind on the bipartisanship requirement. Maybe some code along the lines of "Republicans aren't helping us so we're doing it without them, jibber, fibber, gimme a drink." Next time someone needs to just install a feature that autogenerates a reason to impeach Trump, since that could come in quite handy. Especially if Nancy is swishing the sauce. One thing I'd like to see in politics, which we may never see from everyone in office, is a tad more honesty. We know the Democrats don't like Trump. Fine. People are free to like and dislike whatever for any and all reasons, I don't care. But just admit it. Democrats should fess up and say "Trump is a tool and we're afraid the American people will elect him again because our smears aren't working, he's just not as disastrous as we predicted, plus he's wildly entertaining. Meanwhile Joe Biden can't keep his teeth in his own mouth, and Beto won't shut his. So we've got to eliminate Trump outright."
Too much to ask?
