If the left is supposedly all in the fight to save Democracy, why do their actions prove otherwise? Because in the pathetic pursuit to ensure this country has no kings, Gov. Gavin Newsom has made it clear the Democrats have a foolproof plan to ensure their king is elected, while proving he could not care less about what the people of California truly want.

Newsom has yet to endorse the person he believes should replace him. He did, however, imply that whoever it is, it better not be a Republican. And, according to him, even if the people want a Republican to fix the decades-long mess the left has created, he has a “break-the-glass” plan that will override the will of the people.

According to POLITICO:

The California governor, speaking at his budget presentation on Thursday, said that rather than pick a candidate, he has focused on ensuring that Democrats are not locked out of the primary, in which the top-two vote getters regardless of party go on to the general election.

Newsom said there was a “break-the-glass” contingency plan to prevent that from happening, and alluded to behind-the-scenes efforts to rally people. He did not specify his activities, but the Democratic Governors Association recently began sending mail highlighting Republican Steve Hilton as a fierce conservative. The ostensible opposition campaign could drive GOP voters to Hilton, ensuring he consolidates the party’s voters and saps the support of the other Republican candidate, Chad Bianco, enough to keep him from finishing in the top two.

People like Newsom have got a lot of nerve claiming Democracy is at stake when they couldn't care less about the will of the people. If the people desperately want a Republican in office, he has admitted he will ensure that does not happen. Democracy, according to the left’s action, is only permissible when it is in line with the left’s agenda. And to call that tyrannical would be an understatement.

It is unclear who will replace Newsom as California’s next Supreme leader, but to claim the left does not win elections fair and square would be putting it lightly. Because if the left relied on honesty, they would cease to exist. This is why they slander the other side and create foolproof plans to ensure the will of the people never comes to fruition. And again, to call this a slap in the face to Democracy does not even begin to describe it.
