BBC Reporter Doesn't Care About William and Kate's Baby
It causes great refreshment to see a reporter fed up with the cow crap coming across his station's news feed. It's even better when he expresses his displeasure with dry humor.
This is Simon McCoy, and someone needs to hand him a beer:
"Clear your diaries, get the time booked off" - @BBCSimonMcCoy announces royal baby due date in his unique way… https://t.co/2xKjyHaOhC— BBC News (UK) (@BBC News (UK)) 1508254917.0
There was also the time he was forced to report on surfing pooches.
"That's a shame, we've run out of pitches."
Then there was the time when McCoy mistook a reem of paper for his iPad.
This one could have been planned.
Lest anyone think we're poking fun, no. We're enjoying his honesty. Compare that to some of our American anchors, and you'll understand our wistful admiration. Here's looking at you, Chris Cuomo (see IDIOT OF THE YEAR: Chris Cuomo Actually Compares Being Called “Fake News” to the N-Word! and CNN Producer on Chris Cuomo: I Just Can’t Stand That Guy…).
The only way we'll ever report on a British royal is to mock the royals. Or to mock the people who care so deeply about the royals. We did, after all, start an entire revolution by tossing British beverages into a now famous harbor. So not paying two craps to babies born to people with fancy titles is inline with our flavor of patriotism. And it seems Simon McCoy is onboard.
