NYT Thought Israel Embassy Move Would End in Chaos. Nope.

Kacie Burnett
December 26, 2017

Whenever Trump does a thing, leftist whinebots short circuit. Especially if they work in media (see Neil Cavuto Lectures Media for 'Over the Top' Negative Trump Coverage). Their heads most recently exploded in Allahu Akbar fashion when the President decided to move our embassy to Jerusalem. Cries of armageddon rang down from liberal ivory towers. Media entered a panicked frenzy. So leftism as usual.

But, as is the case with most predictions of Trumpian apocalypses, time trudged on and... Surprise! The world kept spinning. Antifa activists kept not showering. Chelsea Handler's show kept sucking. No new catastrophes shook the earth. Something the New York Times is now reluctantly admitting.

President Donald Trump's decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem hasn't lead to the violence predicted by many in the media, according to a Saturday report in The New York Times.

While editorial boards and cable news talking heads blasted the supposed reckless decision (even a Times editorial published right before the president’s announcement said the move would raise “new tension in the region” and could incite “violence”), instead a “mood of hopeless resignation” overshadows the Palestinians.

There are still some smaller protests on the streets of Gaza, but the general peace of the region directly contradicts the apocalyptic fears espoused by so many in the days following Trump’s executive order. “Yet, despite the dire predictions of major turmoil, and the best efforts of both Fatah and Hamas to mobilize the masses, so far there has been no large-scale, spontaneous outburst of violence in the wake of the president’s declaration,” The Times writes.

Okay, the fact that there hasn't been a huge surge in anti-Israeli violence might actually be surprising here. But that's because Palestinians were already terrorizing Jews to the max. Peace was never a thing in the Middle East. Which is what gasbags like Obama and John Kerry forget when they tout so-called "two-state solutions."

Moving our embassy to Jerusalem doesn't increase Palestine's hatred of all things curly-haired and Jew. That hatred has long been a staple of Palestinian culture. You know, like kabobs or pedophilia. Still, the media never miss a chance to lose their crap over Trump's decisions. Especially if it means they get to slam Israel too. It's a twofer! Too good to pass up.

I can't wait to see all the soiled progressive diapers 2018 brings.
