Monkeypox was to be the new pandemic with mysterious origins. Then, we learned of the origins, and everyone was expected to forget the origins. It is a highly contagious virus. As we've seen with other recent highly contagious viruses--viruses that we were hashtag #allinthistogether over--contact tracing can be used to make sure others are not infected. As Danny Polischuk shows us in this video, contact tracing for Monkeypox can prove to be difficult.

"This is very important. Can you please do your best to not have any unprotect anonymous--or nonymous--sex for a month while we get this Monkeypox thing under control... You can't promise that?"

The video then flashes directions that if you or a loved one has Monkeypox, please follow the CDC guidelines and do nothing. To any "independent" "fact"-checkers reviewing this post, please note the word "comedy" at the top. Polishchuk is not saying those are actual guidelines. Prior to 2021, this is what was referred to as a "sketch" and not a misinformation video.

As for me, in my role as a blogger, I have yet to review the guidelines to ensure I'm not spreading misinformation myself. I'm still reviewing the CDC guidelines on another virus they had been warning us about. It's the one the CDC now says we no longer have to do anything for, either. Unclear is if all blog posts marked "misinformation" by Big Tech now become "information." Or if the CDC has given up on life.

However, as the saying goes, there is sometimes truth in kidding. Elected officials have, in fact, said it is inappropriate to expect people not to have unprotected sex with strangers. It IS appropriate to abandon your loved ones to die alone. But not appropriate to tell them not to have unprotected sex.

On a somewhat related note, a poll is going to come out saying that Americans lack faith in our public health officials. Neither the media nor elected officials are going to understand why. It might be because that same poll will say Americans don't have faith in them, either.
