Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is upset. He believes the Trump Administration is making it harder for the city to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. The truth is, no one cares.

These people are so pathetic. He is essentially implying that because the Trump Administration is holding illegal immigrants accountable by enforcing the laws Congress enacted, that means they will intimidate people and stop the city from celebrating the Independence Day of a foreign nation. This would only make sense in the minds of people who believe all Mexicans are illegal immigrants. To call that racist would be putting it lightly.
According to CBS:
Thousands of people flock downtown for El Grito, which in 2024 led to street closures and lots of traffic downtown. Last year the festival was canceled because of concerns about immigration raids as the Trump administration launched Operation Midway Blitz just the week before. The festival will be back in Grant Park on Saturday an Sunday.
Again, only racist idiots would cancel the parade, as it implies that to break federal immigration laws, you are very likely Mexican.
Little Village's Mexican Independence Parade did go on as planned last year, with no issue and much celebration, but some spectators said attendance was down because of fears regarding immigration raids and ICE detentions. While Operation Midway Blitz officially ended last November, many in Little Village say the neighborhood is still chilled by the enforcement, and that raids and deportations continue to this day.
To claim no one cares about any of this would be an understatement. Goodness, these people could not be more narcissistic if they tried. They truly are the victims of their own making. There is no problem, so the left goes and makes it up. So pathetic.
