Marco Rubio Blasts Abortion Apologists: "It's a Human Right's Issue..."
You've seen your friends sharing Planned Parenthood talking points about how the evil Republicans have defunded them and hate the womynz. After all, Republicans only want to control your vaginas. Those patriarchal, cisgender, vagina-controlling jerks.
You've seen the press claim this is a terrible political issue.
Now see Marco Rubio take both of those things and say, "Nah brah..."
"It's not even a political issue. It's a human rights issue. To me, that's a human rights issue. They discuss it as a political issue, but for me the sanctity of life is a human rights issue. I believe that unborn children have rights. That someone, just because they haven't been born and don't have a birth certificate, doesn't mean they don't have rights. And Planned Parenthood is an organization that's been caught - repeatedly - now on video - trafficking in fetal tissue of aborted children. It's an outrageous practice. Americans are outraged by it, and they don't understand why we continue to fund - with taxpayer money - an organization that does this sort of thing."
But...but...women will lose their healthcare! Marco Rubio has a response for that too...
"What we've proposed is let's take the money Planned Parenthood gets, and let's give it to federally qualified health centers that DON'T do what Planned Parenthood does, but do provided women's healthcare - which is important."
Boom. This is why regardless of his imperfections as a politician (and yes, there are quite a few) Marco Rubio is one of the best messengers for the Republican party. He's able to communicate effectively, doesn't get flustered and frankly, stands pretty firmly on most of the pivotal principles that matter.
Abortion is a human rights issue. Not a vagina rights issue.
I know, I know. My white, male, cis-privilege is showing.
