The internet did its thing and tried to help out former child actor Tylor Chase. Unfortunately, Chase is well beyond the help of the interweb, as proven by the fact that he trashed his hotel room for no reason. And while many still hope this man, struggling with what appears to be severe mental illness and drug addiction, can get help, this is not something hopeful netizens can accomplish at this time.
Daniel Curtis Lee, Chase's former Nickelodeon co-star, revealed that Chase trashed the room and is seeking advice from his followers on how to proceed.
According to the Daily Mail:
He went on to reveal that hours after checking Chase into the hotel, he got a call from management that the door of the room was left wide open and the microwave was in the tub and the refrigerator was turned over.
Lee expressed regret as he admitted that his family had tried to check him into a hotel before and it didn't work.
He then went on to slam how California handles mental health crises and the systems that are in place which make it difficult for people like Chase to get the help they need.
You can’t really force help on someone who is, one, not in a state of mind where they can make such decisions, and two, does not seem to want help. Whether or not he should be forced into an involuntary psychiatric hold is not for me to decide, but clearly, involuntary action might be the only way at this point.
Despite being disappointed with the way things have played out, Lee still wants to help his former co-star as he asked his followers for advice on how to proceed and if a temporary, involuntary psychiatric hold AKA a 5150 in California is worth pushing.
‘Mighty Ducks’’ Shaun Weiss has also offered to help Chase.
"I have received many messages about Tylor Chase," Weiss began. "I reached out to some friends of mine and we have a bed for him at a detox and we have a place for him to go and get long-term treatment thanks to my buddy Mike Jordan at 1111 Recovery."
It is truly sad what many child actors end up like, and I am sure everyone reading this only hopes for the best for him. All lives matter, and time will only tell if this man gets the help he does not realize he needs.
This is also more proof that we didn’t need—that a warm bed and room are not the problem. Chase has many issues he needs to get through, and it certainly isn’t a lack of housing. You can give people all the free stuff the left demands, but it won’t fix the root of the issue. What this man needs is a severe inpatient program and long-term mental health care. At least, that is my unprofessional opinion. The left finds it compassionate to let these people live out their lifestyles on the street, but that is anything but compassionate. There is a reason these problems are more severe in leftist-run areas, and it’s because they could not even pretend to care about these people.
This is incredibly sad, yet deeply predictable.
