Justice Antonin Scalia Goes to Battle for Religious Liberty. Liberals FREAK...
As if Justice Scalia doesn't get under the skin of leftists enough (see Justice Scalia Criticizes Affirmative Action. The Left Loses It…), they're going to love this speech he gave where he said that no, the Constitution doesn't mean non-religion takes precedence over religion. A million leftist bleeding hearts exploded.
That should be common sense, but these are leftists we're talking about. Common sense is just another tenet they don't believe in. They're too busy worshiping the fake power they think they have over the planet.
On Saturday, he said the First Amendment prohibits the government from endorsing one religion over another. But, he added, that doesn’t mean the government has to favor non-religion over religion. He argued that’s a more modern reading originating in the courts in the 1960s. He also said there is "nothing wrong" with presidents and others invoking God in speeches, according to The Associated Press. If Americans want to the government to be non-religious, he said, they should vote on it instead of courts deciding.“Don't cram it down the throats of an American people that has always honored God on the pretext that the Constitution requires it.”
The above was in an article from The Hill.com. It's a good pull quote. But here's a better one from CNSNews.com:
"God has been very good to us. That we won the revolution was extraordinary. The Battle of Midway was extraordinary. I think one of the reasons God has been good to us is that we have done him honor. Unlike the other countries of the world that do not even invoke his name we do him honor. In presidential addresses, in Thanksgiving proclamations and in many other ways," Scalia said."There is nothing wrong with that and do not let anybody tell you that there is anything wrong with that," he added.
Yes, Scalia is right. Yes the the Founders agree, which is why the First Amendment is worded as it is...
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
I bolded the text the liberals try to ignore. You're welcome, liberals. Now you have zero excuse to say "oh, but I didn't see it." Or if you just skipped over it and yelled "SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE." Read it again, it says nothing of the sort. Get your eyes checked. I thought that's why you wanted Obamacare so badly. Or maybe you're stuck in line waiting for your appointment. If that's the case, LOL at you.
Of course the leftists couldn't handle the truth, or the facts of what Scalia said. They got on their spin machines and did their darndest to spread non-truths (lies).
Glasses, leftists. Go get them.
Religious freedom is an inherent right, the American people agree. We are a country because of it. Americans have the freedom to worship whatever God they want. Yeah, you leftists also have the right to worship yourselves. We also have the right to mock you relentlessly for it. It's a win-win, so thanks for that.
More importantly, thank you Justice Scalia. Both in speaking out on behalf of the Constitution, but also for saying things that lead to entertaining responses from leftists. It's our lifesblood.
