Israeli Interior Minister's Wife Tweets Obama Coffee, Left Cries Racism
Disrespectful? Probably. Insensitive? Sure. Did we giggle? Yeah. We did.
Yesterday morning, Judy Mozes, wife of the Israeli Interior Minister, tweeted the following joke:
The left went crazy with cries of racism, she deleted the tweet, then issued the following apology:
"I apologise, that was a stupid joke somebody told me. President Obama I shouldn't have written the inappropriate joke I heard. I like people no matter about their race and religion. Sorry if I caused any offence to anyone. I hope I will stay married when my husband will land and hear what I did."
I'm confused. Are we not allowed to say Obama's black? Or that he's weak? Or are we just not allowed to use the term "Obama coffee"?
Because seriously, the only thing this joke should offend, is coffee.
Barack Obama is black.
Barack Obama is weak.
These are statements of fact. They aren't racist. Insensitive, maybe... but not racist.
At least, not any more racist than calling Mitt Romney an old white guy, but we don't have any problem with that now do we?
Know what else? Judy Mozes isn't just the wife of Israel's Interior Minister. She's also a radio host and TV commentator. She criticizes foreign leaders regularly from both her Twitter and Facebook accounts. Judy Mozes even criticizes Bibi Netanyahu - the leader of her own country! But you haven't seen her apologizing to him lately now have you? No. Why? Because he's not weak. Because he can take a joke. Because Israel is too busy worrying about it's survival to be offended by whether or not something is politically incorrect.
Jerry Seinfeld is right. Our ridiculous levels of American sensitivity are destroying comedy. Political correctness is ruining our neighborhoods.
Judy Mozes, we like your joke. It's based on fact, and facts can be really funny things when we all get over our hyped up politically correct selves.
Obama Coffee = black and weak.
