Dem congressman desperately tries to grill student who exposed his high school pushing Islam while censoring conservatives

Rep. Jamie Raskin spent over 2 minutes trying grill 16-year-old Texas high school student Marco Hunter-Lopez at today’s hearing on political Islam and Sharia Law.
What a clown.

Lawmakers on the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government held a hearing today regarding “Sharia-Free America: Why Political Islam & Sharia Law are Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution: Part II.” It was intended to “examine how the rise of Sharia law in America poses serious risks to our civil liberties, founding principles, and republican system of government,” and “how Sharia-based institutions may violate federal law and the Constitution.”
This should not be controversial, nor should it be up for debate. The problem with this is that many Democrats believe this is a “conspiracy theory.” However, we all know that when the left dubs something conspiratorial, it ends up becoming a fact. So, draw your own conclusions.
Nonetheless, Rep. Jamie Raskin took this time to debate high school student Marco Hunter, and you could say it did not go as planned.
According to the Daily Signal:
Hunter‑Lopez criticized public‑school policies he said reflect Islamic influence, including the serving of halal meals.
“Public schools aim to educate, not promote principles that are incompatible with our Constitution and way of life,” he said.
Responding to Raskin’s claim that America has no established religion, Hunter‑Lopez noted that “God is mentioned four times in the Declaration of Independence.”
What the left does is declare that church and state ought to be separate, and because of this, they believe any religion is valid, so long as the government does not become a theocracy. The problem with this, however, is that it is not how this was intended to work.
Hunter-Lopez was invited to speak before Congress because of an incident that happened at his high school. Last year, he founded the Republican Student Club because he “wanted to foster a space for students who share the same values.”
What should have been a simple act of student leadership became a prolonged battle against school administrators who treated my group differently from every other club on campus.
On August 16, 2024, we met every requirement: 10 members, a teacher sponsor, and a room. Other groups, including the Muslim Student Association and organizations supporting gender-affirming ideology, were approved without issue. Our club was denied for being “political in nature.” Administrators first claimed a district-wide policy against political clubs, then after weeks of emails requesting the policy in writing admitted it was simply how they felt. Only after more than a month of emails, pushback, and enormous effort were we approved. Even then, we faced hostile scrutiny. Principals were caught taking down our approved posters while I was out of town. I have a documented timeline of specific instances of unfair treatment; being pulled into the principal’s office, cornered, and talked down to. After we hosted guest speakers, the principal tried to impose new rules on the fly. My father even had to help create a guest speaker form to protect me as a minor.
If you are surprised by this, you are very likely living under a rock. Our education system has been hijacked by people who hate this country and its founding principles. This is precisely why his club “faced hostile scrutiny” while clubs like “the Muslim Student Association and organizations supporting gender-affirming ideology” were not. This is a problem and has no place in America. And this is also why there was a need for this hearing.
While Raskin thought he was on to something by pathetically debating the high school student about the separation of church and state, he failed to convey a coherent argument, and proved how naive he is as he attempted to scold a student for standing up for this country's principles. The fact that lawmakers find this controversial tells you all you need to know.
