While Veterans Affairs is in the midst of getting a face lift (see CLEANUP: Trump Fires 500 From VA, Suspends 200 More…), the Pentagon is getting its priorities in line. First order of business? Get funding for tranny sex changes. Yes, really. It’s an “important” part of a new Defense Act recently passed. In response, certain conservatives proposed a bit of sanity in the form of an amendment to the Act. The suggested amendment would bar the Pentagon from footing the bill for unnecessary transgender medical care. You know, like Major Man-Tranny’s new pair of mammaries.
Yeah, that didn’t go over too well…
The House voted Thursday against banning the Pentagon from providing transition-related medical care to transgender troops.
The body rejected the amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on a 209-214 largely part-line vote. Twenty-four Republicans joined with Democrats to defeat the amendment.
Transgender troops currently in the military have been able to serve openly since last year. The policy also allows them to receive any treatment deemed medically necessary, including surgery and hormone therapy. [This] amendment would have barred Pentagon funding from going to any transition-related medical care, except for mental health services … The cost of surgeries alone could reach $1.3 billion over the next 10 years.
The amendment outraged Democrats, who called it ignorant, mean-spirited and denigrating.
Gaze upon the priorities of our military. As in the same military facing off ISIS and friends (see OBAMA FOREIGN POLICY: US Commandoes Flee From “Ally” Free Syrian Army). Leftists (and 24 Republicans apparently) would rather drop one billion smackeroos of defense spending on sex surgery than chance being “mean-spirited.”
The military is turning into a playground for social experiments (see Progress? Defense Department to Allow Openly Trans People in the Military and ‘Boy’ and ‘Girl’ Deemed Offensive Words… in the Air Force?!). It used to be for winning wars and protecting American interests. Oh how the times have changed. Much like Sergeant Cindy Lue-Don’t Touch My New Hoo-Hoo.
Clearly our government is divided between those who fancy wasting resources on virtue signaling and those who dare refuse to waste billions on fantasies which result in the mutilation of someone’s body in pursuit of a fantasy that will never be. Of course, the latter are oft deemed monsters. The nerve on them.
