Woke "pastor" preaches that when women have abortions, it's all because of faith and love

"Women terminate pregnancies...because of love and out of their high regard for the value of new life. Love sometimes requires saying ‘no’ to life rather than ‘yes."

People make a lot of “choices” in life, but not all choices end with aborting a child. Just because someone made that choice does not mean Christians must condone it simply because a choice was made. While most people can agree it is not easy to make the “choice” to abort a “choice,” it is still an abomination to God. It’s unclear why Rev. Marvin Ellison does not comprehend that, but he has decided to inform his congregation that “choice” is all that matters.
Ellison, who works as a volunteer chaplain at Planned Parenthood, claimed that nearly all these “choices” were made out of love. It is unclear how love turns into the killing of an unborn child, but the math is not adding up here.
Speaking during a sermon at the First Congregational Church, Ellison broke down his non-biblical stance on the matter.
According to Protestia:
From these women, I’ve learned something about the ‘who.’ They’re not two groups of women, women of faith and women who have abortions…Most women electing to terminate a pregnancy are religiously affiliated.
Astonishingly, he made the claim that the majority of women who have an abortion are “women of faith.”
Research proves that the main reasons for abortion are financial instability and timing. Not religion. While some may identify as Christians, as the majority of Americans still claim to be, there is no causation here. To correlate this decision with faith is intentionally misleading.
From these women, I’ve also learned something else about the ‘who.’ They’re not two groups of women- women who love children and women who have abortions. Only one group of women exists.
Most people don't abort the things they love. While it may be true that many of these women regret their decisions, and many feel love for them after the fact, this is also not a deciding factor. This shallow claim does a huge disservice to the real victims — the unborn children.
Women terminate pregnancies for the very same reason that under other circumstances, they carry pregnancies to term and give birth. Because of love, because of love and out of their high regard for the value of new life.
Most people carry pregnancies to term because the result is a child. Most people abort their pregnancies because the result is losing that child. This is not complicated, and the fact that he thinks people are dumb enough to believe that is another problem in itself.
Love sometimes requires saying ‘no’ to life rather than ‘yes.’ ‘That’s a difficult truth, not always easy to tell.
This is very narcissistic thinking. Love involves selflessness, sacrifice, and thinking of others. Love never requires ending life. This is not rocket science, and to call it a mockery of God’s creations would be an understatement.
A lot of women are also victims of leftist ideology. The left spends more time promoting abortion and justifying it, rather than helping women in need. The fact that Ellison has jumped on that bandwagon proves who he is serving, and it certainly is not God.
God recognizes the value of human life. According to Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Unborn children have inherent value and were intentionally created by God. According to Psalm 139:13, “For you created my inner being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
God does not create so humans can destroy. The Bible portrays the unborn as intentionally crafted with inherent value in God’s image. This is not hard to comprehend, but because people like Ellison deny that truth, there’s a Bible verse for people just like him.
According to James 3:1, “Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” He should remember that the next time he makes the “choice” to condone and justify abortion.
