Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been a YUGELY successful movie. So YUGELY that Elizabeth Warren thought a "How do you do, fellow kids" video pushing her agenda would go over like gangbusters on social media. Or, more specifically, whatever Zoomer she has running her social media accounts, who, while devising an analogy about how unaffordable it is to buy a home in New York City, managed to forget whose political party has run NYC for decades.

A new Spider-Man movie just hit theaters. And it got me thinking: could Spider-Man afford to buy a home in New York City?

The complaint is that "Wall Street Billionaires" are why Spider-Man can't afford to buy a home in Queens. And that by electing more Democrats who hate "Wall Street Billionaires" (out of one side of their mouths), they can put policies in place to make New York City more affordable.

Let's set aside that if Spider-Man were real, Warren's leftist staff who thought this video was a good idea would be hashtagging #DefundSpiderMan, call him a fascist, and support the Scorpion and the Vulture being back out on the streets after electing The Zohran to abolish prisons. Not to mention something something white savior complex.

Spider-Man has always lived in humble accommodations once he moved out of Aunt May's house. Web-slinging has never paid well. Though to Warren's point, someone who works so hard to keep NYC safe should be able to live in NYC; if Spider-Man were real, he would do what a lot of first responders do and live in the suburbs, where it is both affordable(ish) AND safe.

When people have seen what the leaders Elizabeth Warren supports have turned New York City into, they decide they don't want that where they live, and vote in the opposite direction. Peter Parker IRL would have a house on Long Island with MJ where their kids attend a safe school, and he's the assistant coach of his daughter's travel softball team.

Though in fairness to the Liz Warren staffer who thought this was a good idea, using fictional characters to attempt to make a political point goes both ways. Also, setting aside that even in the 80s neither Al Bundy nor Homer Simpson could afford the homes they lived in, that was the least unrealistic aspect of both their fictional lives.

Swing and a miss for Elizabeth Warren. Maybe they can get [antagonist from Brand New Day I don't want to spoil] to wipe everyone's memory of it ever happening.
