This is America. In America, you have this thing called “Freedom of Expression.” This concept was so important to the country's founding that it was enshrined in the First Amendment. This should not be controversial, and if it is, that is a personal problem. One middle school teacher failed to realize that, and has trampled on one student’s First Amendment rights because she deemed the student's speech “offensive.”

A student at Drake Middle School was directed to write a poem about something she is passionate about. She wrote about her pro-life views. She has the constitutional right to do that, just as someone has the right to spout nonsense about being pro-abortion. Nonetheless, the teacher did not like that she had the nerve to speak up against this injustice and barred her from reading it in front of the class, according to an exclusive video shared by Libs of TikTok.

The school doubled down and informed the mother that her daughter could not present the poem because it was political. That created a double standard, as the mom claims the teacher often brings up political content, including topics related to LGBT rights and immigration. The teacher even attempted to kick the student out of class during other presentations because she was offended that someone had an opinion that differed from hers. That is how insane the “educator” is.

“Not only were they presenting a lot of political material themselves, but they were presenting it as truth,” the mom confirmed. And the fact that this is unsurprising tells you all you need to know.

Rather than teach students how to defend their views and open the door to civil debate, she punished the student for daring to disagree with what the teacher deemed politically correct. Again, you can't do that in America, and the fact that the school chose to punish the student, rather than this ignorant, tyrannical teacher, is a scandal in itself.

Someone should really inform the teacher that just because she is offended, that does not make her stance correct. To call this pathetic would be an understatement.
