Lefties would like us all to believe legally acquiring a gun is as simple as walking into your local 7-Eleven. Walk in empty handed, walk out two minutes later with Mountain Dew Slurpee and an AR-47 assault cannon. This explains why crime is a thing.

The problem with that notion is it's faker than a stripper's chesticles. In fact, this new study shows most crooks get their gats on the black market.

Color me shocked:

As the gun-control debate continues to rage, a survey released this month by the Department of Justice (DOJ) showed that many armed criminals have relied on the black market for guns.

According to the study, an estimated 287,400 prisoners has possessed a firearm during their offense. The findings concluded 6 percent had stolen the weapon, 7 percent found it at a crime scene and 43 percent obtained it off the street or on the black market. More than 25 percent had received it from a family member or friend, or as a gift.

About 1.3 percent of all prisoners obtained a gun from a retail source and used it during their offense, the study stated. Moreover, among the prisoners who possessed a firearm during their offense, “0.8 percent obtained it at a gun show.”

Well, this goes to show how effective gun control would be at stopping criminalizing dickweeds.

Call me crazy, but something tells me the black market guy selling Uzis out of his trunk doesn't have an FFL. He's likely waiving the mandatory waiting periods. Bypassing the background checks. Acquiring his inventory by "less than legal" means.

Maybe the left should make the black market illegal. They certainly seem to think putting a new law on the books magically stops criminals in their tracks. Though they seem to be forgetting one tiny detail.

Criminal douchenuggets don't care about the law. Legal or not, they're going to come by their hand-cannons. The only people gun control inconveniences are law-abiding folk who aren't likely to be popping caps in asses.
