Everything about the present Chinese lockdowns in response to the omicron COVID variant is terribly horrifying. We’ve heard a first-hand account, yet it’s still difficult to quite fathom the depravity with which the CCP has approached the situation, treating human beings like animals, and animals like garbage.

Reports have been circling about the CCP euthanizing pets of those who test positive for COVID-19. Why this is so is beyond me. It doesn’t make even the slightest sense, but very few things in China make sense. The communist regime doesn’t do things because they make sense; they do things because it controls the people, it scares them into submission, it grinds them down to make them easier to control.

So, when I came across a video on Twitter of a group of Chinese authorities beating a defenseless puppy to death, I couldn’t help but think it was par for the despotic course. This was, however, after I had managed to recover from being absolutely disgusted and infuriated.

This is pure evil. I’m not going to get into an argument about where this falls on a scale of repulsive, ghoulish behavior—I know Matt Walsh might get on me for that—but decent human beings can understand that beating a defenseless animal to death is unquestionably cruel. I’ll never say I value an animal’s life over a human’s life, as a general rule, but I’d have no problem giving all of these people death sentences. That’s just me.

I don’t know how you can watch something like this and not feel your heart break. And knowing this certainly isn’t the only instance of such behavior only makes it worse.
