Chicago Teachers Union President Busted Sending Son To Private School, Makes Hypocritical Excuses After Backlash

Another anti-school choice democrat was caught once again sending her kid to public school after she actively campaigned against it in spite of your kids.
The president of the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) is defending her decision to send her freshman son to a Catholic school on the South Side of Chicago after facing backlash for the decision.
In her defense, CTU President Stacy Davis Gates criticized school choice, blaming the lack of resources at Chicago’s public schools.
Davis Gates is a flaming hypocrite and has been very loud about her opposition to both private schools and school choice because of “racism.”
“*School choice* was actually the choice of racists. It was created to avoid integrating schools with Black children. Now it’s the civil rights struggle of our generation? #BoyBye,” Davis Gates wrote on X last year.
In 2018, Davis Gates called private schools "segregation academies."
Davis Gates also opposed the Illinois Invest in Kids program, which offers a 75 percent income tax credit and provides scholarships for low-income students to attend non-public schools in Illinois.
“It was a very difficult decision for us because there is not a lot to offer Black youth who are entering high school,” Davis Gates said. “In many of our schools on the South Side and the West Side, the course offerings are very marginal and limited. Then the other thing, and it was a very strong priority, was his ability to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, which quite frankly, don’t exist in many of the schools, high schools in particular.”
In other words, she wants to make sure her son is offered endless possibilities, while your kids are subject to abysmal opportunities.
Nothing to see here. Just another do as I say, not as I do Democrat.
Chicago public schools are a mess and possibly the worst in the country. Districtwide, there are many schools where no students in some grades can read or perform math at grade level.
According to The Illinois Policy Institute, last year, there were 50 Chicago public schools in which no fourth-grade students scored at grade level in either reading or math and 50 schools in which no fifth-grade students scored at grade level.
Over half of Chicago schools are underutilized, and among the least utilized, the five most empty are at less than 11% capacity, and at most 8% of their students are proficient in reading and 4% in math, according to The Institute.
Even though we see empty schools and failed results in Chicago, don’t even think about consolidating those facilities and running things more efficiently. Because that could be a “hate crime.”
Davis Gates claims there is a ‘lack of resources’ and that is the reason behind her decision to send her son to private school. But that is not true. In fact, Chicago has some of the highest costs of education with an average spend of $29,000 per student, but some of the worst results.
The fear of losing her union check is partly why she and other Democrats opposes school choice.
Between January 1, 2021, and September 30, 2022, the National Education Association Fund for Children and Political Education, the PAC affiliated with America's largest teachers union, spent more than $3.5 million, with the majority of contributions going to Democrats.
Democrats hate school choice because they fear breaking up the education monopoly they’ve built and the lack of uncertainty about controlling what ideological garbage your children learn keeps them up at night.
The atrocious state of our country's education system is seen through Chicago Public Schools and Davis Gates is certainly aware of that.
