The left needs to learn to take a joke, because we’re at the point where poop memes somehow jeopardize free speech.
A college liberal thought she was onto something when she claimed that Trump producing AI content of himself flying a fighter jet and dumping poop on protesters is somehow akin to slashing your God-given right to free expression. She thought wrong, which is why it was so easy for Tucker Carlson to dispute this.
According to the college liberal, because Trump is “against the protest” and that “is an example of practicing the First Amendment,” this somehow is akin to preventing them from speaking. But as Tucker previously told her, she likely has not “thought deeply enough about the difference between making fun of someone and preventing him from speaking. There's a meaningful difference."
She responded that this is an “unacceptable” way for the POTUS to be acting. And whether or not that is true is beside the point, because he’s making fun of people he disagrees with, and it means nothing significant. In other words, it’s not that deep. But to the left, there is nothing worse than this.
I am going on a hunch here, but she likely has zero clue that the Biden DOJ prosecuted people for memes. It’s unclear if she thinks it’s more evil for a president to make a meme — but you do the math.
Tucker closed with a very crucial point: "This is part of the derangement of the left, that criticizing somebody is the same as committing violence against them or preventing them from speaking. That is not true."
According to the left, silence is violence. However, speech is also violence. But if both are true, then neither is true. This is also the problem with identity politics, as disagreeing with someone is a personal offense. So, while she claims this meme was so detrimental to the First Amendment, that could not be further from the truth.
