Bloomberg Basically Says Farmers Too Dumb to Learn to Code [VIDEO]

Brodigan
February 17, 2020

Mike Bloomberg says that any idiot can be a farmer, but it takes a special kind of idiot to work in the information economy. Maybe not in those exact words, but it takes a certain amount of flair to be the least likable of this group of Democrats running for president. I think this clip is from 2016. Honestly, the campaigns have been so busy unloading all their oppo on El Bloombito, it all kind of blends together.

You dig a hole, you put a seed in, you put dirt on top, add water, up comes the corn. ... You put the piece of metal in the lathe, you turn the crank in the direction of the arrow, and you can have a job. ...

The information economy is fundamentally different, because it’s built around replacing people with technology, and the skill sets that you have to learn are how to think and analyze, and that is a whole degree level different. You have to have different skill set; you have to have a lot more gray matter.

It's the reverse "learn to code." Smug, elite leftists would tell people in middle America who were put out of work by smug, elite leftists policies that they should just learn web coding, then acted like whiny bitches when people said it to them (see ‘Learn to Code’ Meme Controversy Explained on Joe Rogan Podcast and UPDATE: Twitter Cracks Down on Users Telling Recently Unemployed Journalists to “Learn to Code”). Mike Bloomberg? He thought those smug elite leftists were poseurs, and he upped the ante, claiming farmers are too stupid to learn such things.

The sad thing is there's no political cost to his statements. Most farmers aren't voting for him, and the voters he's targeting all agree with him about what rubes people in flyover country are. It wouldn't surprise me if these comments make him the Democrat front-runner.
