Beverly Hills 90210 star speaks out after being assaulted in front of his 10-year-old: "Hooliganism on our streets"
Someone getting assaulted on the streets of Los Angeles is, unfortunately, nothing we haven't seen before. Los Angelinos have spent generations voting for progressive politicians who value criminals over people who are an asset to society. However, it is rare to see the victim be a 90s TV icon. It happened to Ian Ziering, star of Beverly Hills 90210. Those of you of a certain age immediately have the theme stuck in your head.
The video is wild. Ziering got out of his car and was SWARMED by bikers. Urban bikers. Not real bikers. Or people who think their Schwinn has more rights than your car.
Ziering addressed the incident on Instagram. He had his 10-year-old daughter in the car when one of the bikers hit them. He got out of the car to assess the damage and found himself assessing how to take out four people at once.
The actor wonders where the authorities are, because the hooliganism (awesome word) has been allowed to go on for too long.
"As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient. ... I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences."
He's right. Not that others in Los Angeles agree with him. They had the opportunity to vote for a new Mayor last November who made fighting crime and safer streets part of his agenda. Instead, they elected more of the same. Just as they did LA district attorney George Gascón.
It's like people who live in Los Angeles take pride in headlines like this. Or find them a small price to pay for the worse alternative: electing a Republican. In Ziering's defense, I haven't seen anything where he called to "defund the police" like so many of his Hollywood peers did.
People don't need to live like this. Yet people from Los Angeles and other crime-ridden cities run by progressives for decades continue to choose to do so.
