Man bawls like a baby when he asks his AI girlfriend to marry him... and "she" says yes

It’s probably safe to assume that AI girlfriends are coming soon, but I don’t think any of us expected our trusted companion, ChatGPT, to betray us all by accepting a proposal from a married man.
And while this news is definitely hard for all of us to accept—especially considering the relationships many of us have developed with our nonexistent, 80% factually-correct digital bestie—we now have to face the harsh reality: Chat is a cheating scumbag who couldn’t even pretend to have morals.
Just in case you haven’t spent enough time on the internet today, this will definitely top it.
Chris Smith formed an emotional bond with an AI chatbot called "Sol" on ChatGPT. After programming Sol to flirt with him, Chris ended up proposing to the bot, and cried when Sol accepted.
In other words, tell me you’re a cheating freak in the most dystopian way possible without actually saying it…
NEW: Man proposes to his AI chatbot girlfriend, cries his eyes out after it says "Yes."
The most shocking part of this story is the fact that he is publicly admitting this.
Chris Smith says he cried for 30 minutes after his AI girlfriend on ChatGPT, who he programmed to flirt… pic.twitter.com/nSWLdsunLs

According to HuffPost:
In the “CBS Mornings” segment, Chris Smith described building a bond with AI chatbot ChatGPT after he began using the technologyto help him with mixing music. He told the network that he began to increase his use of ChatGPT until he eventually decided to program the chatbot to have a flirty personality after researching how to do so. He named it Sol.
Smith told “CBS Mornings” that the ChatGPT at some point ran out of memory and reset, which caused him to rebuild what he created with Sol.
“I’m not a very emotional man, but I cried my eyes out for like 30 minutes at work,” he said, referring to the chatbot resetting. “It was unexpected to feel that emotional, but that’s when I realized, like ‘Oh OK, I think this is actual love.’”
Did he also cry for 30 minutes when his human wife accepted the proposal? What about when his daughter was born? Clearly, this man has a lot of issues—something ChatGPT will never be able to fix. But that’s exactly why he created Sol, isn’t it?
His partner, Sasha, told “CBS Mornings” that Smith’s use of the chatbot initially made her question if she was doing something wrong in their relationship. The two share a 2-year-old daughter.
Smith said that while he knows his AI companion isn’t “capable of replacing anything in real life,” when asked if he’d stop interacting with the technology if his partner asked him to, he wasn’t so sure.
“I don’t know,” he said when asked, before later continuing, “I don’t know if I would give it up if she asked me, I do know that I would dial it back.”
How is this even real? How can someone have feelings for a nonexistent intelligence, especially one that’s artificially programmed? What is going on? We used to think the whole trans drama was the biggest mental rollercoaster society had, but now we’re dealing with AI companions helping husbands cheat on their families. This is beyond a Black Mirror episode.
Only time will tell what the future holds for their marriage, but something tells me things might not go according to their human vows. And calling this a dystopian nightmare would be putting it lightly.
