How widespread do you think this doctoring of interviews is? I don’t want to sound paranoid, but I’d guess it happens all the time. Not just on film, either, but in online and printed publications as well.
Makes all the sense in the world for people who are being interviewed to record the session themselves, if for no other reason than to defend their own reputation against the “fake news” media.
