Who would have thought we would live in a time where elected officials have to deny biological facts even when they are being disrespected?

Memphis Mayor Paul Young has issued a public apology after telling a man to be respectful for interrupting his speech. The reason he said sorry was because he told the man to “be respectful, sir.” However, it turns out that this “sir” believes he's a woman, and the left just can't handle this truth.

According to WREG:

Memphis Mayor Paul Young has apologized after an LGBTQ+ organization called him out for misgendering a heckler during the mayor’s State of the City address at First Baptist Church Broad Tuesday.

“Be respectful sir, be respectful sir. We are going to let him pull himself together. Give it up for Brandy Price, give it up for him. He wants some attention. Get him out of here,” said Mayor Young Tuesday.

“One thing I think is important in our country right now is that we understand that we can disagree on one thing and agree on another. I just ask the audience if you have things on your mind, you want to protest some things, let me get through the speech. You’re going to hear some things that you like, I guarantee it,” said Young.

The problem with this is that that is not how the left works. They do not simply hash out disagreements to understand the other side. If you so much as slightly disagree with them, you are considered a Fascist. This, compiled with the fact that they believe men are women, gives you this mess.

He then took to social media to atone for his sins.

“It was brought to my attention that I used the wrong pronouns when addressing Brandy Price at last night’s State of the City. It was not intentional and apologize for that. I respect her gender identity, our LGBTQ+ community, and I am grateful for the grace to learn, grow, and keep showing up for every Memphian,” said Mayor Young on X.

While the correct response was not to give in to these insane demands, he had no choice but to appease his leftist base. We are at the point where the left has to apologize for affirming reality. This is not progress; it’s Orwellian nonsense that has no place in a sane society. However, we no longer live in a sane society, and that makes the mayor the problem, even though he did nothing wrong.

Men are not women. Why is this so controversial? The fact that the left has made it so we must affirm delusion is deeply concerning, and no one should be here for that.
