Success! Trump Strikes Up Deal Saving 1000 Jobs in Indiana
There have been some perks popping up since Trump was elected. Mainly all the liberal tears. But there's also been quite a few other positive effects (see Economist Says 'Market Will Never Recover Under Trump.' Dow Hits All Time High SAME DAY!). The latest of which kept hundreds of Americans from losing their jobs...
Air conditioning company Carrier Corp. said Tuesday that it had reached a deal with Donald Trump to keep nearly 1,000 jobs in Indiana.Carrier tweeted that the company was "pleased to have reached a deal" with Trump and Pence to keep the jobs in Indianapolis.
In February, Carrier said it would shutter its Indianapolis plant employing 1,400 works and move its manufacturing to Mexico. The plant's workers would have been laid off over three years starting in 2017.
Firstly, kudos to Trump and Pence. They managed to keep a major company from hightailing it to Mexico and taking 1000 jobs with them. Lo siento, Mexico. Looks like Carrier won't be air conditioning it's way across the border any time soon. The cherry tomatillo on top? It also sounds like Carrier is happy with the whole enchilada. Win-win.
Seeing Trump convince a company to change it's mind about leaving to Mexico is promising. Though I hear Cancun is lovely this time of year - lots of fun stuff going on over there. Mostly tamales and drug cartels.
Of course, it's not just that Trump managed to keep Carrier from leaving. The important part isn't forcing companies to stay in the United States, but creating an atmosphere that incentivizes them to be here. Out of their free will, of course, because America.
Obama dragged our economy through the mud (see New Study: Economy MUCH Worse Under Obamacare. The Numbers...). Then stomped on it a few times for good measure. Now it appears that Trump and Pence are doing all they can to rejuvenate the market, even before the inauguration. Only time will tell, but if this is any indication? We'll be looking forward to the next four years under not-Hillary.
Speaking of things to look forward to...
