Mexico's woke president calls it "fascist" to fight war against drug cartels, claiming it violates drug cartels' rights

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum just said fighting a war against drug cartels is unlawful because it would violate the rights of drug traffickers and it would be "fascist."

According to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, “Returning to the war against the narco is not an option — first, because it is outside the framework of the law.” In the next breath, she proceeded to mock those on the right by claiming that going after the cartels is against the rule of law.
She claimed this would be “permission to kill without any trial.” In fact, she argued it would be moving toward authoritarianism—or “fascism,” if you will. It’s unclear exactly who she thinks she’s convincing with these lies, but she has made it clear who she intends to represent, and it certainly isn’t the law-abiding citizens of Mexico.
Look, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say she was likely elected to serve the interests of the cartel—especially considering this was Mexico’s deadliest election in history—but I do know better, so I will certainly not be saying that.
She’s essentially saying that this will only increase the number of innocent deaths while doing nothing to end drug trafficking—all while implying that the cartel will simply continue doing what they’re going to do. And the fact that she believes this is somehow “fascism” is nothing more than a deranged lie.
How dumb does she think the people of Mexico are? Does she truly believe they’ll buy this and think she’s fighting for anyone other than the cartel? Not saying she is, but if the shoe fits, people are at the very least going to start asking questions.
I don’t know much about Mexican politics, but a little bird once told me it’s not really possible to become president of that country without the cartel’s approval. Then again, I’m no political scientist—so take that with a grain of salt.
As of this writing, Mexico remains a narco state, and unfortunately for the good people of that nation, nothing seems likely to change anytime soon.
