Leftists have a habit of ignoring violence in Chicago. Mainly because it makes their ideology look bad. Liberal policies + liberal politicians + decades of power = Chicago. They can’t blame the violence on the NRA. The Tea Party is nowhere to be found. So what does Chicago Mayor, Rahm Emanuel do? He places the blame squarely… on the police.
“We have allowed our police department to get fetal and it is having a direct consequence,” Emanuel said last week at a meeting of the nation’s top law enforcement officers and elected officials, The Washington Post reported.
“They have pulled back from the ability to interdict … they don’t want to be a news story themselves, they don’t want their career ended early, and it’s having an impact.”
To be fair, while he’s getting a lot of grief over the word “fetal,” his comment was not completely meritless. Of course Police are scared. Of course they’re more hesitant to engage in scenarios than before. Of course they’re forced to second-guess their decisions more than ever. Police know that any decision they make leaves them guilty until proven innocent in the eyes of the media and politicans looking to score SJW points (::cough::billdeblasio::cough::).
But leftists, here’s the rub…your ideology is the problem, Skippy. It’s the leftist media and the leftist activist and the leftist Obama Administration that is setting to tone by blaming cops first and worrying about the facts later.
#HandsUpDontShoot? #BlackLivesMatter? These are movements entirely, unequivocally spearheaded and dishonestly perpetuated by modern leftists. Instead of supporting police officers, the Obama administration invites these hucksters to the White House. Because racism.
Rahm Emanuel’s political party is so fueled by hatred, simply suggesting “we should wait for a fact or two” sends them into a face-melting frenzy. It’s the leftists who see reserving judgment as more unreasonable than initiating a social media lynching. Just ask Don Lemon how his week is going. (Read more about the liberal lynch mob’s storied history here.)
Rahm Emanuel identified the problem, albeit sloppily. It’s just a shame he doesn’t have the courage to denounce the people causing it. Because that would require looking in a mirror, and maybe tearing the (D) off of his name tag.
