Watch: Trump's Huge Qatar Deal Launches Major Shift In US Policy - But is That a Good Thing?
Is Trump securing the bag in the Middle East? Today’s show recaps the highlights.
During the election, the left was convinced that Trump would bring World War III despite the lack of evidence to support that claim. And while they also claimed that the Middle East would become “ground zero” for this inevitable crisis, it just so happens that the exact opposite is true.
According to the BBC, “Trump described the latest talks between the two countries, which ended on Sunday, as ‘very serious negotiations' for ‘long-term peace.’"
The US has insisted that Iran must scrap its uranium enrichment to prevent the country developing nuclear weapons - though Iran insists its nuclear activities are entirely peaceful.
Trump also asked “Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to fully normalize relations with Israel in exchange for sanctions relief,” according to Fox News.
"Democrats, including Obama and Biden, were more neocons than Donald Trump as it related to foreign policy,” Crowder said.
According to the White House:
President Donald J. Trump signed an agreement with Qatar to generate an economic exchange worth at least $1.2 trillion. President Trump also announced economic deals totaling more than $243.5 billion between the United States and Qatar, including an historic sale of Boeing aircraft and GE Aerospace engines to Qatar Airways.
Since 2017, Qatar "has spent almost $100 billion to establish its influence in Congress, universities, newsrooms, think tanks, and corporations," according to the Free Press.
The airplane deal was signed off by Attorney General Pam Bondi. She used to work at a Washington, D.C., lobbying firm that received $115,000 a month from Qatar to fight human trafficking, according to a 2019 contract reviewed by The Free Press.
"Qatar is not a pro-freedom type of nation. They do have interests that are opposed to ours," Crowder said. “If you have a problem with lobbyists, if you have a problem with foreign interests, this would be cause for concern."
