Canadians, like Americans, are suffering from skyrocketing food costs. Also like Americans, Canadians have an incompetent leader blaming everyone but himself. Canada has Justin "I Feel Pretty" Trudeau. America has Joe "I Made Poopy" Biden.

Trudeau gave a speech where he blamed the greedy store owners for raising prices out of greed and not out of the government making everything more expensive. Though unlike in America (where the White House does the same) at least he didn't blame Putin.

"It's not okay that our biggest grocery stores are making record profits while Canadians are struggling to put food on the table," proclaimed Canada's walking pile of soy and hair goop. "We expect to hear from them by Thanksgiving on what their plan is to [address the rising cost of food]."

If you are familiar with America's rising cost of food problem, you can guess where this is going, "[Or] we will take further action and we are not ruling anything out, including tax measures."

The Retain Council of Canada has an idea that will also be familiar to Americans. "The government could take a number of steps to make food more affordable, including temporarily removing the carbon tax from farmers, food processors, and distributors and canceling [the] government's planned plastic packaging targets that could increase costs to grocers by $6bn a year."

And furthermore...

Leftist policies that I.F.P. Trudeau supports don't only make food prices go up. They make the cost of everything needed to MAKE THE FOOD go up. Farmers have been warning about this since last year.

Truck drivers have been warning about the cost of delivering food since last year. Not to mention the cost of energy to produce food and the packaging of food. Guess who they blame? It's not the grocers.

"$1,100, $1,200. [...] When you put $1,200 in your gas tank and just six months ago it was costing you $600 or $700, the exponential reality of it is starting to sink in. You just can’t walk that back. It touches every single thing that matters in this country. From food production to transportation. All of it."

Justin "I Feel Pretty" Trudeau's progressive policies have caused everything to become more expensive. That's what progressive policies do. He's making grocers the scapegoat and threatening them that if they don't fix the problem he caused, he'll make it worse with more of his policies.

That's something else progressives do.
