Fear-mongering Dem Gov tries to blame ICE for illegal's death, but then the actual FACTS get in the way

JB Pritzker: "We've seen a death on Friday as a result of [ICE] entering communities."
The death was an illegal alien who resisted arrest, fled, and hit and dragged an ICE agent with his car, forcing the agent to open fire to protect his own life. pic.twitter.com/oF9TeKigbt

It’s unclear whether JB Pritzker is willingly naive, objectively foolish, or simply lying. Given his actions, it’s likely a combination of all three. Nonetheless, he has just announced that he will defend an illegal immigrant who allegedly struck and dragged an ICE officer with his car—solely because this individual has violated federal immigration laws.
The incident Pritzker is referring to occurred when officers were conducting a traffic stop, and the man allegedly attempted to drive his car into authorities. During the incident, one officer was struck and dragged by the vehicle as the suspect tried to escape. Given how crucial this detail is, it’s strange that Pritzker fails to mention it. But this is typical of the left: reports that omit key facts to push a narrative, which is highly misleading. The only question that remains is whether the Governor is deliberately presenting it this way or is genuinely incompetent. But considering he is the most powerful person in Illinois, it’s hard to believe he doesn’t have the resources to know all the facts. Thus, you can draw your own conclusions
BREAKING: An ICE officer was severely injured in Chicago this morning after being being hit & dragged by an illegal alien who resisted arrest during targeted traffic stop & tried to run over the ICE arrest team with his vehicle. ICE shot and killed the alien as a result.

Nonetheless, he’s not the only one trying to tug at your heartstrings—the media is reporting it this way as well.
Just look at the way ABC 7 reports it in their headline.
An Illinois congressman is among those who are calling for all video of the deadly shooting involving an ICE officer in the west suburbs to be released by federal officials. https://t.co/9qyvLqAytE

A lot of people only read headlines. That’s why it’s extremely important not to provide a misleading one like this. From the headline alone, a reader might assume an innocent man was killed. However, in the same article, the third line states, “A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson said its officers were conducting ‘targeted law enforcement activity,’ and during a vehicle stop, ‘a man, who ICE says was a suspect, resisted arrest and tried to drive his car into the arrest team.’”
But ABC 7 chose not to include that information in the headline. It seems the intent was less to inform and more to mislead.
Or just look at how Reuters reported it in their headline.

From this, one might assume the community is grieving the death of an innocent illegal immigrant. However, just reading the second paragraph makes it clear how misleading that impression really is.
That being said, you get the point. The left wants to mislead people into thinking that ICE is the problem and that legal immigrants are being targeted and harmed. However, by the media’s own reporting, nothing could be further from the truth.
We can only hope people start reading beyond the headlines—including the Governor of Illinois—but it’s doubtful that will happen anytime soon.
