Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan @peggyflanagan wore Islamic modesty coverings in a video supporting the state’s Somalis. She also does an Arabic Islamic greeting. This woman previously wore the shirt “protect trans kids” that featured a knife as a threat.pic.twitter.com/t5mzSGvrfr

In the midst of the Somali fraud scandal, Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan visited a Somali market wearing a hijab. She likely did this to prove a thing or two to the people who understand that fraud is, in fact, bad. It’s unclear why she can’t just condemn these crimes and be done with it, but she would much rather put on a show for the people in the back.
It’s also unclear what she thinks she’s proving, or to whom, but that is neither here nor there.
According to Flanagan, “the Somali community has always been a part of my Minnesota.” But if this were true, why is it not true? At best, they have been coming to the state since the 1990s, but Minnesota was a thing well before that. Whatever she thinks she’s proving, she’s not proving it.
According to MEAWW News:
Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan visited Carmel Market and local Somali-owned businesses on Wednesday, December 25, to reaffirm her administration’s commitment to the community amid rising concerns.
I am just going on a hunch here, but something tells me those concerns have nothing to do with fraud or the victims. Hmmm.
Wearing a hijab, Flanagan urged the public to shop at Somali-owned businesses and reassured residents that 'there are more people who are looking out for you than you know.'
If this is not cultural appropriation, then nothing is. According to the Oxford Dictionary, cultural appropriation is “the unacknowledged or inappropriate adoption of the customs, practices, ideas, etc., of one people or society by members of another, typically more dominant, people or society.” And, well, I think this checks out.
During her visit, Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan emphasized that the Minnesotan Somali community is an essential part of 'the fabric of our state.'
When was the last time she did a PR stunt like this for the American community?
Speaking to those gathered, she said, "Assalamu alaikum. My name's Peggy Flanagan, I am the lieutenant governor of Minnesota, and I'm really honored and humbled to be here with all of you today. I am incredibly clear that the Somali community is part of the fabric of the states of Minnesota.”
She added, “I think about my friendship with Nimco, we've been friends for almost 25 years and when I think of being part of Minnesota and growing up here, the Somali community has always been a part of my Minnesota."
This is the same governor who previously wore a “protect trans kid” shirt with a knife on it. It’s unclear if she understands that the Muslim community is not what you would call “inclusive” toward the LGBT agenda, but you do the math.

The left is so naive. They would rather turn Americans into the problem for things that do not exist than condemn fraud when it happens. If anyone is not inclusive toward the LGBT community, it’s those she parades around like they could not harm. In fact, America is one of the most inclusive countries when it comes to this lifestyle, but she still blames the right for problems that, again, do not exist.
She can wear a hijab all she wants, but that won’t stop the fact that fraud is, in fact, bad. The sooner she realizes that, the better off these Somali businesses will actually be. Until then, don’t expect anything more than fake virtue signaling and her blaming Americans for problems that, for the millionth time, do not exist. But what else is new?
