Jasmine Crocket gets called out for accusing Hispanic Texans of a "slave" mentality, but tries to pretend she never said it

CNN: You said Latinos who voted for Trump have a slave mentality...
CROCKETT: That's not what I said at all. pic.twitter.com/F6yRhEh18h

It appears not to have crossed Jasmine Crockett’s mind that if she wishes to win the Texas Senate race, she would very likely have to win the votes of Trump voters. So, the fact that she spent the last several years berating and slandering them—so much so she labeled them Nazis, to say the very least—may be just a little bit of a problem for her. It’s unclear who she thought would appreciate being called a “slave mentality,” but I assure you, it’s definitely not Latino Trump supporters. And she knows that, which is why she refuses to take responsibility for these asinine claims.
Last year, Crockett claimed Latinos who voted for Trump have a slave mentality. She has nothing to say now that those comments have resurfaced.
According to Fox News:
CNN's Jake Tapper reminded the Texas Senate candidate of comments she made to Vanity Fair in 2024, when she compared Latinos who voted for President Donald Trump to slaves who would "hate" themselves.
"It almost reminds me of what people would talk about when they would talk about kind of like ‘slave mentality’ and the hate that some slaves would have for themselves," she said.
"It’s almost like a slave mentality that they have. It is wild to me when I hear how anti-immigrant they are as immigrants, many of them. I’m talking about people that literally just got here and can barely vote that are having this kind of attitude."
When Jake Tapper asked if she still believed it, she responded that she did not say all Hispanics had this mentality. You know, she meant most, but not all, if you will.
"No, and that‘s not what that said at all, to be clear," Crockett said. "It did not say that every Latino has that type of mentality."
"No, no, but the ones that vote for people that believe in strong or Trump‘s immigration policy," Tapper clarified.
"So, I don‘t believe that the people that voted for Trump believe in what they‘re actually getting. That is No. 1. What Trump said is that he was going to kick out the bad guys. And that‘s what I was talking about," Crockett said.
Does she really think people are that stupid? Does she really believe people who voted for Trump are also confused about his immigration agenda? Get real. Sucks to suck, but she can’t have her cake and eat it too. She spent the last few years throwing racist and vile remarks at anyone who even thought about voting for Trump, and there is no way she can walk back those claims she made. And at this point, that is nothing more than a personal problem that will likely cost her the election.
