Ben Shaprio Battles Moronic Sarsour Defender Over Her Use of 'Jihad'...
We always enjoy watching our friend Ben Shapiro destroy liberals. It gives us the warm fuzzies, like apple pie and puppies wrapped in the American Flag. So when he was asked to debate some dinkus defending Linda Sarsour calling for a jihad on Trump (spoiler: She didn't "mean it like that"), Shapiro did what Shapiro does.
"It clearly wasn’t taken out of context; everybody I know who posted this story posted the entire video, as well as a large portion of the transcript from what she said. I don’t think anybody is claiming that she openly called for violence against President Trump, but jihad means more than just internal struggle, or “struggle for good.” We all know that there are terrorists all over the world who use the word “jihad” as justification for what they do, and Linda Sarsour knows that too. She knows how to make headlines; she is a radical anti-Semite who has backed terrorists in the past; she is a person who said Ayaan Hirsi Ali should have her genitals removed..."
Ok, back to Shapiro...
If you want to talk about context, let’s talk about the full context, which is who Linda Sarsour is, the fact that she began this speech praising a guy, who has, in the past, talked about how jihad includes violent jihad. She started her speech with that, so let’s not pretend that you can just – you’re the one taking this one line out of context and then suggesting that it only refers to this sort of anodyne version of jihad.
But remember, according to leftists, saying "the west" or "western civilization" is what's really offensive.
Ben is right (shock). If we want to look at the full context, then one must examine Linda Sarsour. If I, for example, said I was going on a full jihad against a slice of cheesecake, no one would fear me. The cheesecake should. But Linda Sarsour's history is not one of an innocent Girl Scout going door to door to sell Thin Mints. She's someone who aligns herself with Muslim extremists.
So yes, context matters. Because in this case, the context makes it worse. Linda Sarsour knew what she was doing. She knew what she was saying. Only left-wing, propaganda-pushing twits are trying to excuse her comments and sweep them under the prayer mat.
