Belgium Becomes First Country To Give Prostitutes Benefits, Now Entitled To Health Insurance And Pensions... and Maternity Leave
Belgium has implemented the world's first law that now gives prostitutes benefits, including health insurance and pensions.
The left will call this “progress” all under the deranged platitude that “sex work is work.” But it’s not work, it’s an evil industry that is founded and dedicated to female exploitation and violence.
Belgium has become the first country in the world to approve an employment law that gives prostitutes new rights, including being able to access pensions, health insurance and maternity leave.
The new law, ratified on Friday, allows sex workers to sign employment contracts with pimps that gives them access to rights that they previously did not have, despite the legalisation of the world's oldest profession in 2022.
The problem with this is that prostitution should not be legal in the first place. And because it is in some places, things start to get complicated with platitudes related to “workers' rights”.
It doesn’t matter if women pretend to love this profession. It doesn't matter if it’s between two consenting adults. It's sexual exploitation that relies on coercing sex through compensation while opening up women to all sorts of violence.
They also get access to unemployment and family benefits, as well as annual leave rights, and the new law gives them the right to end their contract with no notice period.
On top of benefits, the law gives prostitutes protections against job-related issues, and forces pimps to stick to strict working conditions.
Sex workers now have the right to refuse clients and sexual acts at any time, and they can refuse to sit behind Amsterdam-style windows or to advertise at all if they believe there is a risk to their safety.
The claim “sex workers now have the right to refuse clients and sexual acts at any time, and they can refuse to sit behind Amsterdam-style windows” makes no sense to me. What do they mean when they say they “now have that right?” They always had that right, otherwise, that’s rape and further proves my point that this industry is focused solely on coercing sex.
The worst part about this is that countries that legalize prostitution "are associated with higher human trafficking inflows than countries where prostitution is prohibited." But Progressives just ignore that and act like all of this is "empowering" while ignoring the fact that it turns humans into commodities that can be bought.
There are a lot of immoral things that humans cannot "consent" to. This is one of those things.
