🚨Mother captures a remarkable moment as her children and their neighbors begin their wiffle ball game with the National Anthem over the weekend.

We interrupt your daily rage-baiting about how "this is not the country you grew up in" to point out that if you put your phone down and look out your window once in a while, you'll see that this is, in fact, the country you grew up in. Exhibit Q shows a group of kids playing Wiffle Ball, but not before singing the National Anthem.
Granted, the reason we know this happened is that someone picked up their phone and filmed it, but the point still stands. Say it with me now, "Awwwww."
As per usual with viral videos, the where and when is currently unknown. We'll label this as Anytown, USA. Though we can rule Manhattan, Chicago, or Minneapolis. If this video found you during a much-needed break of "everything sucks," "everything is terrible," and "someone please do something," judging by the comments from TikTok, you are not alone.
"Most American thing I’ve seen all day."
"Just subconsciously took my hat off! PLAY BALL!!!!"
“God bless America, those kids and their parents.”
“When I see things like this, it gives me hope for the future.”
“Best thing I saw on the internet today.”
It reminded me of a moment from over the summer. Because you get a lot of people rage-baiting about how "this isn't the country you grew up in" and saying other gay sh*t like "this is what they took from you." And I get it. Especially doing what we've chosen to do for a living, you are exposed to a lot of the suck. It can warp your perception.
But I was sitting at a block party over the summer and noticing that, for a bunch of kids who were growing up in a country that was not the country we grew up in, they were all doing the exact same things we grew up doing. They were riding bikes and scooters. They were drawing on the sidewalk with chalk. There were water guns. There were crafts. There were kids playing wiffle ball. And no one was staring at a device.
When was the last time you stopped doomscrolling when your kid asked you to have a catch or go to the playground?
Unless, maybe, I'm the one who lives in a bubble. But I honestly think when you find yourself weeping for the future and the fate of society, look out the window. There is a good chance you'll see kids singing the National Anthem before a wiffle ball game too.
