Hopefully, you were like me and were too busy over the past few days with food and family and cookies and eggnog and Hallmark Movies to have caught this. Some people insist on spending holidays beefing with haters and losers on X-Twitter, or lately on the right, "frenemies." Others log off, live in the now, and have what we oldheads used to call "conversations IRL." If you are in the latter group, you missed the White House using National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation to make a hilarious pro-MAGA Christmas meme.
If you haven't seen the movie, there was a funny scene where Clark (Chevy Chase) was struggling with the Christmas lights. Eventually, someone flipped the circuit breaker, and the entire house lit up. The lights were so bright they blinded Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. It was a funny scene. Thought not as funny as when they electrocuted the cat.
And I know what some of you are thinking. "Let me guess, Brodigan. Chevy Chase said something stupid about Trump, or ICE, or Stephen Miller." He may have. I didn't bother to check. Plus, I can't hear the words "Chevy Chase" without thinking of the Milton Berle scene from Saturday Night.
No, in a twist, and mayhaps a little bit of a Christmas miracle, one of the co-stars of the movie LIKED the White House meme. Randy Quaid, who played Cousin Eddie, responded with a meme of his own.

He also followed up with his own Christmas message.
On behalf of myself (and not Cousin Eddie) I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to Jesus Christ!

Cheers to both Randy and Eddie.
Also, Christmas Vacation still holds up.

Brodigan is Grand Poobah of this here website and when he isn't writing words about things enjoys day drinking, pro-wrestling, and country music. You can find him on the Twitter too.
