While the State of California is doing everything it can to punish journalists who expose fraud, especially when it's committed by immigrants, the President is incentivizing this type of investigative reporting. That says it all.

The only people who should have a problem with this are those committing fraud or those turning a blind eye to it. There is no in-between.
President Donald Trump is putting cash behind his crackdown on taxpayer fraud, offering Americans rewards for tips that help bring fraudsters to justice.
Speaking alongside Vice President JD Vance and independent journalist Nick Shirley in the Oval Office, Trump unveiled the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program and said qualifying tipsters would receive a 1% commission, subject to applicable laws and rules.
"If you turn somebody in and you, let's say report, and you find $1 billion, we are giving a commission to that person of 1%," Trump said.
California, Seattle, and Minnesota are some of the places where Shirley has recently uncovered massive fraud. If you are surprised by this, you are not paying attention. For far too long, officials have turned a blind eye and wasted your tax dollars, while you struggle to make ends meet. To call this unacceptable does begin to describe it.

Yeah, that tells you all you need to know. One side believes fraud must be stopped. The other side wants to mock the ones uncovering it. Again, that says it all.
