Remember when we talked about how leftist inventions like safe spaces were actually really racist themselves? (see Dear Liberals: You’re Now Creating More Real Racism Than Ever) I feel like I’m having déjà vu.
A college student in Australia is currently having at least $200,000 in legal bills dumped on him. Because of a “racist” Facebook post. And no, it wasn’t real racism.
Alex Wood is being sued under the Racial Discrimination Act over a 2013 post he wrote after being asked to leave a Queensland University of Technology computer lab reserved for the use of Indigenous students.
“Just got kicked out of the unsigned Indigenous computer room. QUT is stopping segregation with segregation,” he posted on a Facebook page… [He is] being sued, alonside the university and two staff, by the administration officer who asked Mr Wood to leave the room, Cindy Prior.
It gets even worse…
An indigenous woman, Ms Prior went on sick leave following the incident and reports she felt unsafe leaving her home because she was afraid somebody would say something offensive to her. She also says she was unable to return to work in a role that required her to have face-to-face contact with white people.
This has been a tedious, dragged out legal battle… all because some ding dong was offended that the kid she was being racist toward wrote a Facebook post about her being racist. LOL.
If I remember correctly, according to leftist rules, non-white people can never be racist and are allowed to segregate (BlackLivesMatter Blasts Library… For Not Segregating Safe Spaces?!). Which seems to be the case here. Can we talk about how insane that is? The judge should have laughed this out of the courts. Instead, some dude is having to deal with potentially life-ruining debt over the borderline mental retardation of this crazy broad.
Also, does anybody else find it absolutely hysterical that this woman can’t risk leaving her house because she might have to look at a white face?
Australia obviously doesn’t believe in civil liberties or freedom of speech like we do. But the lesson here is, over-sensetivity will lead to people in America wishing to ban free speech. Yes, this is how it happens. It already is happening here. Safe spaces. Trigger warnings. Unfortunately, it’s coming faster sooner than we thought it would. Luckily for us, there are still plenty of people who will fight to keep those liberties. Because paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for making an innocent statement, just because someone else got their undies in a twist, isn’t okay. And it still wouldn’t be okay even if it were offensive. That’s how freedom works. You don’t get to erase everyone and everything you don’t like. Even if it makes you angry. Or even a little annoyed.
Which brings us to this…
