I get it. It's tough to have the bandwidth for blue state elections when the streets are saying we're struggling in safe red districts. Even when you have the Minnesota Senate and Oregon gubernatorial races within the margin of error, they both feel like trap games. So a California Republican running an ad where two girls look like they are about to do gay sh*t in front of the trans battle flag? Ain't nobody got time for that, right? RIGHT?!
Steve Hilton, you magnificent bastard.
Just try it, California. https://t.co/6uqT6m8oV4

I get that this ad won't fly in all districts for all other Republicans. On California TV, seeing two girls with funny colored hair in front of an activist flag is going to get people's attention when all other political ads are nothing but white noise. Then you find out what they are experimenting with is...voting Republican in California.
They've been voting for democrats over and over again as California competes with New York as the worst place to live on scorecard after scorecard. Then they replace those democrats with other democrats and don't understand why taxes and utility bills are through the roof. Why not try something different for a change?
Even as the ad pisses off the usual suspects (allegedly, I don't feel like fishing through X-Twitter), it still helps Hilton.
Unbelievable. Steve Hilton, with one ad, got the biggest media outlet in San Francisco to tell its progressive, gay, base that the "scary conservatives" are mad the republican candidate doesn't hate them.Just brilliant work by Hilton. Masterclass in persuasion. https://t.co/SfFZOB7eri

Don't get me wrong. California is still California. Even if it is a single-digit race right now.
Which explains Democrat Xavier Berrera - Biden's former DHS secretary who lost hundreds of thousands of migrant children - backing out of a debate because of how bad of a shellacking he took in the CNN debate.
@anthonycabassa New poll shows massive swing to Hilton- only 5.6 points between them now: https://t.co/WjqC4ZZOMX https://t.co/8HVW9RMWnl

It's a statewide race in California during a midterm election where every other metric outside of David Marcus's on-the-ground reporting implies a rough night for Republicans next month. But stranger things have happened.
Not much stranger. But still.
