New Documentary Takes a Look at The Simpsons' 'Racist' Apu Problem
Despite being dealt numerous blows in recent years, leftist outrage culture is still at an all time high, and leftists are desperate to find channels for their butthurt. I want to believe there's a tongue in someone's cheek that I'm missing here. But, The Problem with Apu? Seriously?
I just...
Funnily enough, The Simpsons made fun of SJW culture recently (see WATCH: ‘The Simpsons’ Hilariously Destroys College SJWs!). Interesting how their parody made it's way into the realm of real life. But, then again, it's not surprising at all. Leftists are walking parodies.
The Simpsons makes fun of everybody and has made fun of everybody over the past 28 years. The irritated Indians even said as much in the trailer. Hank Azaria does so many different voices for the show, I can't even find a definitive list. I counted 16 regular characters off the top of my head, let alone one shot characters.
Why single out Apu, then? Are they saying it's okay to make fun of people as long as you leave their group alone? Yeah, that's not how comedy works.
We've all seen how this story plays out. Hank Azaria will be shamed by the left until he begs for forgiveness, or cuts someone a check. Apu will head back to Calcutta and Kwik-E-Mart will get a new manager. A cis-hetero Christian male, of course. Because they're the only group that's fair game for mockery.
Then, fast-forward a few months and Indians will be complaining about lack of representation in media. There is no satisfying a leftist. Which is the way they want it.
Here's an idea, guys: turn off shows you find offensive. If enough people do it, then change happens. Let the market decide, yeah?
Speaking of leftists and entertainment.
