Prostitutes in Kenya say it’s Trump’s fault they keep spreading HIV

According to the president’s job description, nowhere does it state that he must cure HIV in third-world countries. Additionally, Trump never campaigned on that. This is what makes it bizarre that prostitutes in Kenya are blaming Trump for the increase in HIV positive cases, when that was never the United States’ burden to take on. Nonetheless, that won't stop the left from claiming USAID cuts are responsible for “killing Kenyan sex workers.”
Kenyan prostitutes are blaming President Trump for the rise in HIV-positive prostitutes in Kenya after USAID cuts.In 2025, US taxpayer dollars stopped funding Kenyan hookers, thanks to President Trump."It's really sad, really, really sad. Due to Trump, things that happened during that season, my friend had no access to the medication. She was HIV positive," said one prostitute."Please, if he can change his mind... if something can happen. People are dying."NGO program coordinator Daisy Kwala says the entire community is at risk now."Now the s*x worker is not able to access commodities; they are not able to get condoms. They are not able to get their HIV medication, and they are still selling s*x ... This puts the entire community at increased risk, especially for the new HIV infection."Has anyone thought that maybe they should stop selling themselves for s*x?

According to My Republica
AFP has confirmed the deaths of at least 24 HIV-positive sex workers in Kenya who, like Judy, were in good health until aid was slashed by the United States in early 2025, according to frontline health staff.
In other words, some people who tested positive for HIV have died, and because Trump slashed funding for programs that were not making America great, this is somehow his fault. Can someone make it make sense?
The real number of deaths is likely far higher, and NGOs say there is already a huge spike in HIV infections among sex workers that will likely spark a "catastrophic" rise in cases among the general population.
There is a simple way to prevent HIV, and it starts with ending the risky behavior that contributes to an increase in positive cases. This is not rocket science, and you don't need funding to realize that.
The US has long been the biggest donor to Kenya's health system, but the Trump administration has restructured support away from NGOs, and passed rules to prevent them promoting issues it opposes.
It should not be controversial to claim this was never the burden of the United States. This also does not mean you must condone these deaths. You can agree these deaths are tragic while also acknowledging this has nothing to do with America. And even then, it was never the duty of this great nation to rid the world of disease. Are they really that delusional?
Additionally, whenever an NGO makes such foolish claims, such as that Trump is responsible for an increase in HIV positive patients in Kenya, when he has never even set foot in that country, it is best to remain skeptical.
That being said, some accountability will go a long way here. That is just my two cents. You can draw your own conclusions.
