Uh Oh. Jesse Williams Faces Major Backlash After Racist BET Speech...
Last week we talked about Jesse Williams' race baiting BET speech (watch Crowder discuss that here). We covered how Justin Timberlake tweeted his support for the speech and got morally crucified for it by "fellow" leftists. Apparently Jesse's speech is also garnering some backlash. You know, from non-racists. People who didn't drink the Kool-Aid. Simmer down, that wasn't a racist jab. But Williams' speech was - according to at least 9,000 people, that is.
'Jesse Williams spewed a racist, hate speech against law enforcement and white people at the BET awards,' reads a Change.org petition that has already gathered thousands of signatures. 'If this was a white person making the same speech about an African American, they would have been fired and globally chastised...'
Here's a snippet of the speech that Jesse delivered. It featured thorough cop-bashing and recounted the names of dead people. They were black so it's relevant... Or something. It also accuses the USA of continuously exploiting blacks, even to this day (see Are All Cops Racist?).
'There is no tax they [white people] haven't leveed against us - and we've paid all of them. But freedom is somehow always conditional here. "You're free," they keep telling us... We've been floating this country on credit for centuries, yo, and we're done watching and waiting while this invention called whiteness uses and abuses us, burying black people out of sight and out of mind while extracting our culture, our dollars, our entertainment like oil.'
He's saying his "poor us, the white people suck" at an award ceremony that's exclusively for black people, mind you. For those of you who don't watch the show Jessie Williams is on, Grey's Anatomy is a long-running show. Created by a black woman. Who also created Scandal. Jessie Williams is likely making fat stacks of cash for playing a role, on a show created by a black woman. A show that has been running for longer than Hillary Clinton has broken the law. Okay, not that long. But you get the point.
Yet Williams and his rich black friends? They're the victims. Show creator and TV juggernaut Shonda Rhimes is backing his speech.
And she retweeted this:
Out of touch much?
I tried finding the racial demographic breakdown of Grey's Anatomy. I hate to say I wasn't able to quickly find it. But how many people want to bet the audience is largely white? Anyone?
Frustrating, right? That's why one can't help but find it entertaining when things like this backfire. 9,000 (and counting!) people were so repulsed by his eggheaded stupidity that they actually took the time to sign a petition. The media is more interested in spreading racial narratives than exploring the truth. Which is why the audience is speaking up.
Actions, meet consequences.
