A man thought it would be funny to wear an ICE costume and get reactions from Brazilian voters at a Miami-Dade College polling site. Authorities believed otherwise. He was subsequently arrested and is being accused of voter intimidation.
A Florida man bought an ICE costume on Amazon and started pacing around Miami Dade College, where people were voting in Brazil’s election, just to “see people’s reactions.” 😂Well, he got a reaction all right.Handcuffs and a voter intimidation charge. 💀 https://t.co/fJylaQNLdX

It is October. Which means Halloween is around the corner. People buy costumes. Sometimes those costumes are funny. Sometimes they are not. It is unclear whether wearing an ICE costume to intentionally get voters' reactions counts as impersonating a law enforcement officer, but if the shoe fits, I guess it fits.

According to CBS:
According to his arrest report, deputies on the scene observed Danilo Alves Silva aggressively pacing between buildings on campus, wearing a blue ICE hat, sunglasses, a camouflage face mask, a blue ICE raid jacket, tactical boots, and carrying a handheld radio over which he reported his position.
And today I learned that the United States has Brazilian polling stations for Brazilian citizens to vote in their presidential elections. Interesting. You really do learn something every day, huh?
While playing dress-up might have had a different outcome on Halloween, it seems his attire and actions were meant to make it look like he was a law enforcement officer. And if that is true, that would be considered a crime. Are people really this stupid?
Deputies from the Sheriff's Homeland Security Bureau, some in plain clothes, followed him as he moved between two voting buildings. They said he approached multiple people who were visibly afraid that an immigration agent was interfering with their election and might deport voters.
One voter confronted the man and accused him of scaring people. According to reports, Silva responded in an aggressive manner. That is when detectives believed it was time to step in, and the rest is history.
After he was detained, Silva admitted that he was not a federal agent. Officers tried to identify him by removing his mask and sunglasses, and he admitted that the outfit was a "prop costume" he purchased on Amazon and claimed he was not violating any laws, the report said. He then told investigators he had come to vote wearing a Brazilian jersey, then went to his car after voting, changed into the costume, and returned to see people's reactions while recording on his phone.
While Silva believes his actions were lawful, authorities believe they are akin to voter intimidation. According to reports, he also tried to bribe the arresting officer because, of course, he did. Nonetheless, you can’t deny that this story is hilarious.
