Leftist idiots have this crazy idea that somehow we could survive in modern-day without the use of Fossil Fuels. This is why they often chant asinine slogans about reaching zero emissions, as they believe the industry does more harm than good. The problem with this is that nearly everything that exists today is only possible because of Fossil Fuels. So, when Abdul El-Sayed was asked what his plan was if we shut down pipelines, his response proved how naive he truly is.
Totally insaneReporter: "I heard you say you wanted to shut [pipelines] down. Then what is the alternative to moving those fossil fuels?"Abdul El-Sayed: "Why do we need to be moving fossil fuels?" https://t.co/y8CF6wH6Eh

“Why do we need to be moving fossil fuels?” He asked the reporter back.
You have to be objectively stupid to not realize almost everything in existence today relies heavily on fossil fuels. Clean water, the food supply, all the way down to powering nearly every industry- we rely on these essential resources to live the way we do. So, when people like El-Sayed demand that we shut down pipelines, all that would do is make other countries richer while the American people become poorer as the price of energy and other goods goes up. This is not rocket science, and if he used just a little bit of common sense, he would understand this.
He added that “the capacity to harness renewable energy and store it has never been greater.” The problem with this is that the premise is false. While you can conclude we have more “renewable” energy than we did a decade ago, that does not mean it can substantially sustain our everyday life. For someone who also pretends to care about the cost of living, what he wants will certainly increase expenses. Weird how it always seems to work out that way.
Just look at the nonsense he says:
I don't think this approach is going to bring down gas prices...Reporter: "You’re taking an anti-pipeline stance?"Abdul El-Sayed: "Yes. I do not believe we should be investing in moving fossil fuels." https://t.co/XaSbMgUQsd

And then there is this:
Abdul’s Green New Deal would send your prices through the roof and decimate our auto industry. Michigan can’t afford Abdul El-Sayed. https://t.co/aRJiyTPyTU

Yeah, he will do nothing but make everyone worse off. But what else is new?
