2015: 'Let's Pause Syrian Refugees' Said... Chuck Schumer?!

Team Crowder
January 31, 2017

Hey, remember when Chuck Schumer wanted to temporarily halt Syrian refugees? 'Member that? It was allllll the way back in 2015. Ah, 2015. Those were the days. Back when TVs were still seven feet deep but only 13 inches tall.

Yes, I'm exaggerating. It was two flipping years ago. Yet when Trump wants to prevent refugees from places like Syria, liberals throw hissy fits better suited for feminists forced to face hot models in Sports Illustrated. Yes, those are waists and hips, ladies. Two separate things.

Well, the internet remembers Chuck Schumer calling for a migrant pause. Picture it. Washington. 2015...

Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the third ranking member of the Senate Democratic leadership, on Tuesday said it may be necessary to halt the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the United States.

Republicans immediately seized on Schumer’s comment, which breaks with other Democrats who have argued against halting the program.

Schumer, however, declined to take the option off the table ahead of a special briefing scheduled for Wednesday afternoon on the process that is now used to vet refugees entering the United States.

“We’re waiting for the briefing tomorrow, a pause may be necessary. We’re going to look at it,” he said.

I see. So, less than a year and a half ago, pausing refugee resettlement was a good idea. For the national security. But now? When it's in an, albeit poorly written and rolled out, Donald Trump executive order?

And this is why people don't take leftists seriously.

I know we usually write about Chuck Schumer's painfully unfunny cousin (see Amy Schumer Posts Whiny, Hypocritical Message to her Critics and Another Video Alleges Amy Schumer Steals Jokes), so this is a change of pace. Well sort of. We're still writing about hideous people. But hey, it's not the Schumers' fault they hit the ugly branches as they fall like suicidal lemmings from the family tree. Thems the breaks.

But what Uncle Chucky is proving here is when it comes to national security, what's most important is political game-playing. In 2015 we had his majesty, Obama. In 2017 we have Frankly Trump, Truthfully. Pretty sure that's the main difference here.

And no, I'm not just saying political games are played by Democrats. Republicans are guilty of this too. It's just Chuck Schumer is a dingus who was totes fine with a migrant pause in 2015... not really even two years ago. Again, biggest difference was the dude who's ass was warming the seat in the Oval.

Chuck just exposed himself as a big hypocrite. Well, again that is. Use Google next time, Chuck. Or suggest it to one of your pages.
